Assessment Programme: Oesophagus, Stomach and Duodenum

Assessment description

This assessment programme covers the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum.

The lesions shown are those that are commonly seen at endoscopy. We have not concentrated on the inclusion of rarities but occasional ones may be shown as might occur in any standard diagnostic endoscopy list.

Every time the programme is run, questions are randomly selected from the database. At least one example of an early cancer or high grade dysplasia will be shown.

The questions involve not only lesion recognition, but also management that might be instituted at or as a result of the endoscopy.

Many of the answers are taken directly from BSG guidelines.

The pass mark may vary at the discretion of the editorial board.
